There is still some paperwork to go through to make it official, but I have been offered the job I interviewed for.

This is the perfect job opportunity for me, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be happy in it.

Is a post-interview "Thank You" note/email really necessary?

Does it really tell the interviewer that you are interested in the job (well, DUH, I mean I had an interview, didn't I?) or is it just an annoying bit of fluff from an over-eager applicant ( Read more... )

Is this line from a CraigsList ad intentional irony or simple ignorance?

"If u has Excellent communication skills then contact us with your resume."

In either case, would I want to apply?

Should I get a BS in Computer Science?

I've been rejected outright because I don't have one, and most other positions I've applied for recommend having one.

At my stage in life, would it be better to get a degree, or just go for certifications?

Apply for a position at a large bookseller, and you are automagically added to their mailing list and receive daily "fliers" from them. But you don't hear a peep from the HR department.

Another day and no decision made on the job.

So far, I've had 2 calls from recruiters who found my resume on Monster.com. They have both offered me opportunities... in Huntsville.

Huntsville is 3 or 4 hours away. I can't commute, and I can't relocate. *sigh*
